cosmic_celery has gotten me hooked on QI, and I've been diligently hunting down and watching episodes since last night. It's just so hilarious, and I can't get over how adorable Alan Davies is. Of course that isn't helpful towards my presentation at all, so I'm gonna have to be a big girl and get some serious work done after I post this.

OH GOD I HATE LJ IT ATE MY ENTRY!!1! RAAAAGE!

So this Nethernet thing is quite fun. You just install a toolbar to your browser and then you can go around the internet picking up gifts and doing missions and bombing people. Since my attention span for silly online games is usually not longer than a few days, I don't know how long I'll be playing with it, but right now I encourage everyone to go check it out. As a linguist, listening to Six having a geekgasm over the English language in ...Ish is extremely entertaining. I started listening to the audio last night and laughed so much. Of course it would be him of all the Doctors to fangirl a lexicographers' conference (that's the kind of conference he'd attend, cosmic_celery ! ;) ). Talking to Six is like arguing with a thesaurus, after all.

I got a lot of love for Valentine's Day! Alas no love from the opposite sex though. ;) My grandparents and Mom sent me unexpected candy, along with an "exam guardian angel" card for Latin from my parents. Best thing is that Mom put a Hermits United logo on the envelope - I was grinning and giggling even before I had opened it, lol. And then I also got my daleks! They sent me a silver and blue dalek though instead of the black/gold one I had ordered, so I wrote the person and they said I could keep it and they'd send me the right one as well. How sweet is that? Must be the Valentine's Day vibes or something. ;)

10 reasons why Rebecca is awesome - in no particular order, she'll know why. ;)

1. She wrote 10 reasons why I'm cool that were really sweet and funny. (you know I like to go for the easy stuff :P)

2. I can always come to her with any problems and she'll help me the best she can - which is awesome.

3. Even if I don't tell her, she'll pick up on problems, pull them out of me and help.

4. She'd turn her poo purple for me. Don't ask.

5. For someone with such a limited supply of patience, she's incredibly patient with me. And she has faith in me beyond any good reason.

10. She's the most loyal and protective person I've ever met, to the point that I sometimes feel like I don't deserve it. She's just so stubborn and rather goes down with me than leave me. And even though I wish she'd just save herself then, I love and admire her for it.

And 11. because I have to beat her ;) - she's the sister destiny forgot to give me. Or another one of our favorites: God didn't make us sisters because he knew our parents couldn't handle us together. :P

imwithrebel for the 6 random things meme. It'll also serve nicely as an update on how I've been. I would post the rules for it if she had given them to me but now you have to do without them thanks to her. :P

1 - I enrolled in college today and as of October 1st I'll officially be an English major. Hopefully it won't be too hard and I'm sure I'll be fascinated by it. My parents helped me move a lot of my stuff down there today and I'll do the rest of the moving in the week of October 9th, because the week after that classes start. Wheee! If you want my new adress, let me know, or just send any stuff to my parents and I'll get it from there... eventually, lol. I doubt I'll be going home a lot - it's a long train ride and I'm glad I'm outta here!

2 - Last Friday I got my driver's license! I don't have a car and will be driving a bycicle around college, so I'll probably lose all my skills eventually, but I've got the piece of paper! Lol. I was very lucky during the driving test - at first, I went just fine and relaxed, but then I screwed up on a crossroad and from there I was being a little nervous, lol. Which caused me to frantically check every corner around me all the time though - Brownie points galore! He really could have let me fail because of the crossroad, but he was being nice. Thank you, driving person!

3 - I was missing Jas when I got home from college earlier because she was in classes with sucky internet, but now she's back! (hey, this is about random things...)

4 - Mom converted me to a Dead Zone and House fan. We're in the... fourth? season of Dead Zone now (Mom can watch and record them from some channel's website - we both prefer the English version anyway, lol), which isn't too great. But House is hilarious and German TV is showing the first season. I got into it about midseason, so I'm playing catch up now. Don't worry, Jas - Dr House is nowhere near the brilliance that is Dr McKay. ;)

5 - I'm in love with my laptop. It's a very good (and pretty expensive) model and I can take it anywhere. Here at home, I enjoy surfing in the comfort of my bed or watching eps long after my parents have gone to sleep (couldn't earlier because I have no headphones for the desktop). And today we could take it to Eichstaett and I've got nice W-Lan there.

6 - I'm teaching Jas math for elementary kids right now, but shhh or she'll get mad at me for letting you know. ;)
